It is considered one of the important archaeological sites belonging to the Ammonite Kingdom during the Iron Age II. It contains the remains of buildings and a number of Ammonite towers. The site represents a center for yarn production, where a large number of textile weights were found Large quantities of pottery fragments belonging to storage jars were also found. The site is surrounded by a number of small watchtowers distributed over all the surrounding mountains .The site was reused in the Roman and Byzantine periods.
